What’s Cookin’?

So what was cookin’ this weekend?

Friday — Pot roast with potatoes, carrots, and onions.  Put it together myself, no shortcuts this time.  Cooked from 9am until 4:30 pm.  Everything turned out hot, tender, and delicious.

I put Blueberry muffins in the second pot.  However, I really overcooked them and they were not edible.  I will try again another day.

Saturday — Another complete frozen dinner meal.  Chicken parmesan with pasta.  Again, I just dumped everything in the pot and forgot about it.  It took about 3 hours to cook, from 11 am until 2 pm.  We had a late lunch.  It too turned out very well.

Sunday — Today I decided to do some different things.  This morning, I set out some frozen yeast rolls to thaw and rise.  They went into the Sport oven about 10am and came out at 12 noon.  The smell of those yeast rolls was incredible.  The rolls were soft, tender, with just a light brush of bronze color.  We devoured them in a matter of seconds.

Next up was another old family favorite called Dump Cake.  Dump in some cherry pie filling, dump in some pineapple, cover it with dry yellow cake mix,  add a half stick of margarine crumbled over the top.  Into the oven at 12 noon and out at 2:45 pm  .  It was so good.  As my daughter would say – “Yum!”

What will be cooking next week?  Who knows, but it is sure to be good!
